The 2026–28 application schedule shows that the first application opportunity opened with the First Mover deadline on 23 October 2025. This was followed by the Early Bird deadline on 27 November 2025 and the Achiever's Round deadline on 4 December 2025. Candidates applying through the CAT route had a specific application deadline of 25 December 2025. The standard application deadline was 2 January 2026, while the final deadline was 15 January 2026.

The entrance-test timeline was linked to the examination accepted for the 2026–28 admission cycle. GIM accepted CAT 2025, XAT 2026 and eligible GMAT scores. For applicants to PGDM-BDA and the International Double Degree in Analytics programme, GIM also required the GIM Analytics Aptitude Test (GAAT). The official admission information states that GAAT was scheduled for 1 February 2026.

After applications and test scores were considered, GIM conducted its candidate evaluation process during the January–March 2026 period. The Achiever's Round was designed as a profile-based shortlisting route. Candidates selected for this round could receive a spot admission offer, while other candidates continued to be considered alongside the regular applicant pool. Achiever's interviews were conducted in Delhi, Kolkata and Goa.

For the regular selection process, shortlisted candidates were required to undergo further evaluation, including a Written Aptitude Test and Personal Interview. GIM's admission overview states that regular-round interviews were conducted during February/March and that shortlist results were announced in March. Admission offers were then communicated to selected candidates, with the 2026–28 academic session scheduled to commence in June 2026.

Because the 2026–28 application cycle has already closed, candidates planning for a subsequent intake should check GIM's official admissions portal for the next application schedule rather than relying on the 2026 dates. The institute's dates can change from one admission cycle to another.

GOA INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT (GIM GOA)

Courses Offered 2026

Programs and specializations available

Goa Institute of Management offers a portfolio of postgraduate management programmes, with the two-year full-time residential PGDM serving as its flagship programme. For the 2026–28 batch, the official admissions portal listed PGDM, PGDM in Healthcare Management (HCM), PGDM in Big Data Analytics (BDA), PGDM in Banking, Insurance & Financial Services (BIFS), and the International Double Degree in Analytics (IDA). GIM also offers programmes for working professionals and doctoral-level management education.

1. PGDM – Flagship Programme

The flagship PGDM is a two-year, full-time residential postgraduate diploma in management. GIM lists an intake of 300 students for this programme. Its curriculum is organised into six terms and combines management theory, applied learning and industry-oriented education. The programme is designed for students seeking careers in areas such as consulting, finance, marketing, operations, management and entrepreneurship.

GIM does not present the flagship PGDM as a programme with a fixed list of degree specialisations in the same manner as its specialised PGDM programmes. Instead, students study broad management disciplines and can build their academic and career focus through the curriculum and available academic areas.

2. PGDM – Healthcare Management

The PGDM-HCM is a two-year full-time residential programme focused on management in the healthcare sector. GIM describes the programme as combining management education with healthcare functions and industry requirements. The 2026 admissions portal lists an intake of 120 students for HCM.

3. PGDM – Big Data Analytics

The PGDM-BDA is a two-year programme focused on business analytics and data-driven management. Its curriculum includes statistical concepts, data management, business intelligence, machine learning, artificial intelligence, deep learning and related analytical tools. The official 2026 admissions portal lists 180 seats for BDA. Applicants to BDA also had to take the GIM Analytics Aptitude Test (GAAT).

4. PGDM – Banking, Insurance & Financial Services

The PGDM-BIFS is a two-year full-time programme focused on banking, insurance and financial services. The official 2026 admissions portal lists 120 seats for the programme. GIM's programme portfolio positions BIFS as a specialised management route for careers in financial services and related sectors.

5. International Double Degree in Analytics

GIM's IDA programme is a 24-month residential international double-degree programme. Students complete the first part of their studies at GIM and the second part at Nova School of Business and Economics in Portugal. The programme leads to a PGDM in BDA from GIM and an MSc in Business Analytics from Nova SBE, subject to completion of the programme requirements. GIM lists 30 seats for IDA.

For the main PGDM route, applicants needed a bachelor's degree with at least 50% aggregate marks, with the applicable SC/ST relaxation specified by GIM. CAT 2025, XAT 2026 and eligible GMAT scores were accepted for the 2026–28 cycle.

GIM's 2025–26 mandatory disclosure confirms AICTE-approved programmes including PGDM, PGDM-HCM, PGDM-BDA and PGDM-BIFS and lists the respective programme intakes.

GOA INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT (GIM GOA)

Admission Process 2026

Eligibility, selection process and how to apply

Goa Institute of Management follows a multi-stage admission process for its full-time PGDM programmes. For the 2026–28 cycle, applicants could use CAT 2025, XAT 2026 or an eligible GMAT score. GIM also used profile-based evaluation and interview stages, meaning admission was not based solely on an entrance-exam percentile.

Step 1: Check Eligibility

Candidates applying for the full-time PGDM programmes were required to hold a bachelor's degree with at least 50% aggregate marks. GIM's 2026 admission information specified 45% as the minimum for SC/ST candidates where applicable. Final-year students could also apply, provided they completed all graduation requirements within the prescribed deadline.

Step 2: Take an Accepted Entrance Examination

For the 2026–28 admission cycle, GIM accepted CAT 2025, XAT 2026 and GMAT scores obtained within its specified validity window. Candidates applying to BDA and IDA also had to take GAAT.

Step 3: Submit the GIM Application

Applicants had to register on GIM's admission portal, verify their email address and complete the application form. The 2026–28 cycle had multiple deadlines, including First Mover, Early Bird, Achiever's Round, CAT Deadline, Last Date and Final Deadline. The final deadline was 15 January 2026.

Step 4: Achiever's Round

GIM offers an Achiever's Round based on a candidate's profile and achievements. The institute states that candidates can be evaluated on academic, sports, co-curricular and professional achievements. Programme-specific achievements can also qualify candidates for this route. Importantly, candidates shortlisted for the Achiever's Round were initially evaluated without using CAT/XAT/GMAT scores; these scores were incorporated later in the admission process.

Selected candidates could receive spot admission offers. Candidates not selected through the Achiever's Round could continue to be considered in the regular admission process, with their Achiever's Round assessment carried forward according to GIM's stated process.

Step 5: Shortlisting and Assessment

Candidates shortlisted through the regular process were invited for further evaluation. GIM's admission process includes a Written Aptitude Test and Personal Interview for shortlisted candidates. The institute's admission overview states that the regular-round interviews take place during February/March.

Step 6: Final Selection

The final admission decision is based on a composite evaluation rather than a single CAT percentile. GIM considers the entrance examination along with academic performance, profile and performance in the subsequent assessment stages. For specialised programmes, additional programme-specific requirements may apply, such as GAAT for BDA and IDA.

CAT Cutoff

GIM's current 2026 admission material specifies the accepted CAT examination but does not publish a fixed official CAT percentile cutoff for the flagship PGDM on the admission portal. Therefore, a specific CAT percentile should not be presented as an officially declared 2026 cutoff. The previously published GIM mandatory disclosure contains historical cutoffs, including CAT 87 percentile for the 2022–24 cycle, but that figure should not be treated as the 2026 admission cutoff.

After selection, successful candidates receive an admission offer and must complete the required fee payment and enrolment formalities. The 2026–28 academic session commenced in June 2026.

GOA INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT (GIM GOA)

Fees Structure 2026

Program fee and other expenses

The official Goa Institute of Management fee schedule for the 2026–28 batch lists an academic fee of ₹21.45 lakh for the two-year full-time PGDM programme. The same academic fee is listed for GIM's full-time HCM, BDA and BIFS programmes for the 2026–28 batch. Since the institute officially publishes the fee as a two-year programme amount, the total programme fee of ₹21.45 lakh is the appropriate figure to use rather than presenting an artificial annual fee.

GIM Goa PGDM Fee 2026–28

The official instalment schedule for the flagship PGDM is:

InstalmentPayment PeriodAmount
Instalment 1aMarch–June 2026₹50,000
Instalment 1bMarch–June 2026₹4,90,000
Instalment 2October 2026₹5,30,000
Instalment 3June 2027₹10,75,000
Total Academic Fee2026–28₹21,45,000

The academic fee schedule is published by GIM and begins after an applicant receives an acceptance letter. The institute states that fee payment can be made through methods including debit card, credit card and demand draft.

The ₹21.45 lakh figure is the academic fee, not necessarily the complete cost of living at the residential campus. Students should therefore distinguish between the academic fee and additional expenses such as accommodation, food and personal expenditure. GIM provides an expense estimator covering tuition, hostel and related costs, while the exact applicable residential charges should be checked in the institute's current fee information before admission.

Tuition Fee Waiver

GIM also provides tuition-fee waivers based on financial need. For the 2026–28 batch, the institute states that students whose family income is below ₹8 lakh per annum are eligible to be considered. The waiver can cover the tuition-fee component, subject to the stated eligibility conditions and a maximum of 5% of students admitted. GIM specifies the tuition-fee component for the 2026–28 batch as ₹13.80 lakh.

The waiver is therefore different from a general reduction in the entire ₹21.45 lakh academic fee. Students should check the institute's eligibility conditions and award terms before treating the tuition waiver as a reduction of the full programme cost.

Fees for Other Full-Time PGDM Programmes

For the 2026–28 batch, GIM lists the same ₹21.45 lakh academic fee for PGDM-HCM, PGDM-BDA and PGDM-BIFS. These programmes have different academic focuses and different sanctioned intakes, but the official fee page lists the same total academic fee for each full-time programme.

Because fee schedules can change between admission cycles, candidates applying for a future batch should use the fee schedule applicable to that specific batch. The 2026–28 figure should not automatically be carried forward to a later admission year.

For students comparing GIM Goa fees with other management institutes, the most relevant comparison is the total academic programme cost plus the separately applicable residential and living expenses. The official GIM fee page should be treated as the primary source for the payable amount and instalment schedule.

Placements 2026

Recruiters, packages and placement highlights

Goa Institute of Management's latest official placement information for the 2025–26 placement season reports a highest CTC of ₹35 lakh per annum for the flagship PGDM programme, an average CTC of ₹16.27 lakh per annum and a median CTC of ₹15 lakh per annum. These figures relate to the latest completed placement cycle and should not be mixed with figures from earlier placement reports.

GIM Goa Placement Highlights 2026

Placement MetricLatest Reported Figure
Placement Season2025–26
ProgrammeFlagship PGDM
Highest CTC₹35 LPA
Average CTC₹16.27 LPA
Median CTC₹15 LPA
Recruiters110+
New Recruiters40+

The flagship PGDM recorded a highest CTC of ₹35 LPA during the 2025–26 placement season. The reported average CTC was ₹16.27 LPA, while the median CTC stood at ₹15 LPA. The median provides an additional view of the salary distribution and should be considered alongside the average rather than using the highest package alone to understand placement outcomes.

More than 110 recruiters participated in the flagship PGDM placement process, including more than 40 new recruiters. GIM reports hiring across finance, marketing, IT and operations and human resources. The major sectors identified in the official placement communication include financial services, IT, banking, consulting and FMCG/FMCD.

The institute's placement reporting also highlights broader placement activity across its PGDM programmes. The placement reports page for the 2024–26 batch records a highest package of ₹35 LPA and 50 pre-placement offers (PPOs) per batch, along with a highest internship stipend of ₹3,00,000. The 2024–26 batch profile on the same page lists 284 students for the flagship PGDM cohort.

Placement roles and hiring opportunities are spread across multiple business functions. For the flagship PGDM, GIM identifies finance, marketing, IT and operations and HR as important hiring domains. This means that the placement process is not restricted to a single industry or functional area, and students may encounter roles across financial services, technology, consulting, banking, consumer businesses and other sectors.

GIM's official placement reporting should be used when evaluating GIM Goa placements because salary figures can vary substantially by graduating batch and programme. For example, older placement reports contain different salary figures, so historical numbers should not be substituted for the latest 2025–26 results. The official placement page maintains separate reports for multiple years, including 2026, 2025, 2024, 2023, 2022 and 2021.

Students considering GIM Goa MBA/PGDM placements should also distinguish between the flagship PGDM and specialised programmes such as BDA, HCM and BIFS. The institute conducts placement activity across programmes, but the ₹16.27 LPA average and ₹35 LPA highest CTC cited above specifically refer to the flagship PGDM placement communication for the 2025–26 season.

Overall placement figures represent outcomes for a defined batch and are not guarantees of an individual student's salary. Role, function, academic performance, prior experience, skills and market conditions can affect individual placement outcomes.
